Spreads · A guide for reflection
Weekly Moon Reflection Spread
Weekly Moon Reflection is a four-card weekly practice, not a live astronomical calculation or a claim about the Moon's effects. Choose a regular time that suits you and review the previous week using your own observations. The positions move from something you can release toward an intention you can choose. Release need not mean discarding a relationship or responsibility; it may mean loosening an unhelpful expectation. Keep the final intention small enough to revisit without treating the reading as a forecast of the coming week.
Beginner · 4 cards · About 10 minutes
Best for
A weekly check-in using release, attention, care, and intention as symbolic themes.
Before you begin
- Choose a specific question about your own choices or understanding.
- Decide whether to include reversals before drawing.
- Draw one unique card for each numbered position and record its orientation.
Position guide
The numbered tiles are a reading-order key. Lay the cards in a simple row or a layout that works for you, keeping each position attached to its question.
Release
An expectation, habit, or unfinished concern you may be ready to loosen. Consider real responsibilities before deciding what to set down.
Notice
A theme or detail worth observing during the week. Treat it as a focus of attention, not an event that must occur.
Nurture
A supportive quality or practical resource to care for within your current capacity.
Intention
A small, freely chosen action for the week. It should remain adjustable as circumstances change.
A hypothetical reading example
Hypothetical example: Ten of Wands prompts releasing one optional commitment, The Moon invites checking assumptions, The Empress suggests a more comfortable study space, and Page of Pentacles becomes an intention to practice one skill. No lunar phase or future event is calculated.
Interpretation tips
- Use the same weekly rhythm only if it remains helpful.
- Review what actually happened instead of searching for proof that the cards were right.
Journal prompts
- What expectation can I loosen?
- What would I like to notice?
- What intention is realistic for this week?
